“Honey, I have some news.” My mom said, sitting next to me now.

“What is it, Mom?” I questioned.

“Keith and I broke up.” She replied.

“Why??” I asked.

“It just wasn’t looking. I felt it wasn’t fair to you to bring Keith into your life without your consideration, anyhow.” My mom explained.

“Is that what you guys broke up over?” I asked, guilty.

“Noo! Of course not. We had other matters.” My mom said.

“So what are you going to do?” I asked.

“Well, I wanted you and your brothers permission, if you guys would be okay with me joining a dating service.” My mom explained.

“Mom. Its your life, I think you should be able to do whatever you want with your love life.” I said.

“I know, but still, I just wanted to hear you thoughts on it.” My mom replied.

“Well, I’m okay with it.” Cole said.

“So am I.” I replied.

“Okay guys, but one thing. There are chances, that if I do meet a guy, and he has kids. They may move in with us, or we may even movie in with them eventually.” She explained. Cole and I froze.

“Kids? More Kids in the family?” Cole exclaimed.

“I said maybe.” She said.

“I know, and moving!?” Cole yelled.

“Listen, I would do everything in my power for them to come and move here anyway. Besides, our house is way to big for 3 people.” Mom explained.

“I’m still okay with it.”  I said, shooting a glance at Cole.

“Me too.” He sighed.

“Thank you. Now, I will be right back.” Mom said, excusing herself fomr the room.

Cole looked at me,

“Your okay with might having to move and having new people in the house?!” Cole whispered urgently.

“Of course not!” I whispered sharply.

“Then why did you say you were?!” Cole whispered back.

“Because! Mom has to be-“ Just then Mom came  back.

“Mom has to be what?” She asked me.

“Mom has to be…ready.” I said.

“Ready for what?” She asked. I hesitated,

“Ready for…dinner tomorrow night! Its on us!” I said, making up an excuse.

“Its okay, hon, I already have plans.” She smiled.
