Linda soon returned and walked into Aidan’s room. Since Leah’s room is next to Aidan’s, Leah and I put our ears to the wall, and tried our best to hear.
We got bits and pieces of the conversation,
“You know what you did wrong…no?” Linda questioned Aidan.
“Actually, I sort of don’t.” Aidan admitted.
“You should’ve never pushed Kevin in the first place.” Linda replied.
“Didn’t I have a reason?”
“Yes, to be mad. You shouldn’t have brought violence into it. All it got you was a black eye, and all it got Kevin were some pretty bad bruises.” Linda scolded.
“I understand.” Aidan said.
“Okay, I think that you should be grounded for a week..” Linda said, almost to herself.
“A WEEK!?” Aidan yelled.
Thats all we heard, because just then,
BANG! We heard a huge bang on the wall. We knew it was a sign from Aidan.
We began to laugh, and we walked downstairs to the kitchen, where Kevin was.
“Violet…I just wanted to apologize.” Kevin began. I rolled my eyes,
“Lets just…forget about it. Okay?” I said, walking past him with Leah to get some snacks.
“Okay.” Kevin sighed.
Linda walked downstairs,
“Kevin! When did I tell you, that you could leave the room!?” Linda yelled.
“Im sorry!” Kevin exclaimed, nearly running to his room.
Linda sighed,
“Why couldn’t I have 2 more girls?” Linda said to herself.
Leah laughed,
“You got one!”
“Thank God.” Linda sighed while plopping down on the chair.
Suddenly, we heard a bang from upstairs. Startled, we all ran upstairs.
“What happened!?” Linda exclaimed at the sight of Aidans room, which has glass everywhere.
“Uhh…a squirrel came THROUGH the window….and uh…broke the mirror.” Aidan replied.
“Aidan.” Linda replied.
“Okay. Well, I was playing ball, and throwing it against the wall…and then I sorta missed the target…and hit the mirror.” Aidan said, truthfully.
“Your paying for a new one.” Linda said, leaving the room, “And clean all that up!” Linda called.
“I will help.” I volunteered.
“Me too.” Leah said.
“Thanks.” Aidan said, already a broom in hand.
We all began to clean.
When we finished, we all sat on Aidan’s bed.
“Wanna go play catch outside?” Aidan questioned.
“Thought you were grounded.” Leah objected.
“She said I couldn’t leave the house; but the backyard, on our property isn’t technically leaving the house..” Aidan said.
“He’s right, Leah.” I said.
“Okay, lets go.”
Soon, we all went outside.
As we were playing catch, Aidan tossed the ball to me. It caught me off guard, since I had been looking the other way, the ball slammed into my head, and I went crashing to the floor.
Need I remind you, this wasn’t a mere slap ball, this was a very hard ball, it was actually a baseball.
“VIOLET! VIOLET, IM SO SORRY!” Aidan yelled from the other side of the yard.
Those were the last words I heard, before it all went black.
