My weekly top 10 (47): (nov 16 – 22, 2008)
-
1. KIRSTEN RAIN – dawning wishes
2. BUFFERDUDE – irresponsible expectant mothers !!!!!!!!!
3. BELLA ITALIAN – love dangerously
4. LEXITHENINJA – till death – the meeting
5. XxDeathXxKissxX – -judgment-
6. LAILA – the weeping girl
7. ROBERT STORM – magic bus
8. ACHRISTOP – a christmas child
9. FIFTHBOOKWURM – the mystery man in the window
10. DDOLENC – the rose of life
-
KIRSTEN RAIN – When someone destroys your family, it can either cave you in or bring you out boldly to take revenge. This is what happens in Kirsten’s novel “dawning wishes”, where Kelsey is a young but bold, brave and strong girl, whose entire family has been wiped out by werewolves. She has one purpose in life – to wipe them out! And how! This is a thorough roller- coaster. ACTION!
-
BUFFERDUDE – One has to be extra careful when expecting a child. Most women are. But what if the child is the result of a ‘mistake’. This grave aspect is reflected upon in Rosen’s poem “irresponsible expectant mothers !!!!!!!!!”. Expecting women drink, smoke and do weed during this delicate period without a care or concern about the child or even their own selves. Is that right? Social and moral ABUSE
-
BELLA ITALIAN – When in love, one is not concerned that it is safe or dangerous to be in love. It just happens and it is cool. Rhiana’s poem “love dangerously” is inspired by (of course) ‘Twilight’. Love was a mutual feeling for both Bella and Edward. What did they feel about each other? How did they express it? They can’t stay away from each other. So, they… Read on.
-
LEXITHENINJA – There are many among us, who are living but alone. There is no one to share their lives or confide in – friends, family or relatives. In Lexi’s novel “till death – the meeting” Lacey is a teenager, who leads a lonely life. And then she meets Seth. But Seth already knows her, courtesy his father, who hates her. He has messed up with her memory. What now! THRILLING
-
XxDeathXxKissxX – Well, well. This is the way of the world. People judge us and impose their thoughts on us. You are fat, you are ugly, you are short, you are… It goes on and on. It brings our morale down. And this is what Karen is concerned about in her poem “-judgment-“. Everyone’s opinion affects her. Her friend encourages her saying she is beautiful because she is different. WHOA!
-
LAILA – You are bound to love this poem for its little-girlish mannerisms. Some of us may find ourselves in it. Laila in her poem “the weeping girl has a girl in plaits. She is happy but suddenly becomes sad and starts to cry. Her friends, her parents and even her doggie don’t like this negative aspect of her. They leave her alone. So she cries even more. MADDENING!
-
ROBERT STORM – On July 30, 2008, in Manitoba, Canada, passengers fled in terror from a Greyhound bus as Vince Weiguang Li, 40, suddenly stabbed a man, Tim McLean sleeping next to him, decapitated him and waved the severed head at horrified witnesses standing outside. This is a real-life incident, the horror of which is accurately brought out by Robert in his poem “magic bus”. Gruesome, shocking, HORRENDOUS!
-
ACHRISTOP – Christmas is around the corner. Well, literally. There are fond memories of it as a child, when the festive spirit was gay and carefree, away from the cares of being a grown-up. Chris in his poem “a christmas child” remembers his childhood festivity when he hopped and skidded to look for the treats. The Christmas tree, the bitter cold, the Santa, the presents…Here comes CHRISTMAS!
-
FIFTHBOOKWURM – What will you feel if you see a mysterious figure appear before you? Scare, shocked, perhaps! I may perhaps get a heart attack (I am a scared mouse!) But it is not so with Fiona, who in her poem “the mystery man in the window” tells about him, who is seen regularly near the window. She wonders who he is but she is no detective. Someday she will know his identity. OUI!
-
DDOLENC – Hmm. This is too deep but it unfurls slowly spreading the perfume and filling our life. Ddolenc in her poem “the rose of life reflects on the stages of life contrasting it with a rose, whose petals are unfurling. A youthful bud becomes mature and the petals unfurl. It is the best time of life. Old age takes over and petals fall. Only eternal love REMAINS.

Take care until next week...CHEERS!... and lots of luv and kisses...and...and...(I said SHUT UP!!!)

Hiya bubbly thanks for sellecting my poem about drinking throughout pregnancy i am glad you appreciate the dilemma which people now face with the low social moral standards of our society and how cheap our lives have become thinking little of a child which is so dependent on it's mother from conception to the day he or she becomes self reliant.
I don't know what is happening with the evolution of humankind but i think we have become retrograde in the way we perceive to be keeping up moral standards.
The news about the new U.S president being ellected is fantastic really awesome i am so pleased for the country and the world that they have such an inspired man at the helm of the most important job in world politics god bless america

hi! sam. thanx for such a marvellous compliment. u, in fact, never seize to amaze me. more power to u. lol. ;-)

Heyy, If you could check out VALKYRIE I would love that. You could start on chapter one, or chapter 2. And there's only 3 chapters, so it shouldn't take too much time.

If you aren't into novels, check out Side notes to stuck-up bitches and the very best friends.

That's actually kind of poetic. aha.

And if not that, then Tuatha De.

According to ME those are my best works. :)

Thanks so much, Bubbly. I really appreciate it.

♥ Dani.
